Create tools with the TD Sketcher which matches the respective application
A Cutting Tool can only play its strengths if all conditions are met. This includes most of the Geometries that have to be adapted to the respective application and material on a Cutting Tool. The TD Sketcher has a library function holding Default Values, so that the Geometries do not have to be determined every time a Cutting Tool is defined. The Default Values can be individually applied to the Cutting Tool and initialise the basic Cutting Edge Geometry with the appropriate Values.
The suggestion library must be populated with values before the first use. The "Extras" / "Material / Proposal" menu takes you to the Administration of the library. All already entered materials are listed in the left area. You can add new materials using the button "Create new data record". Each new record needs a unique label what needs to be entered in the field and confirmed with OK.
You can add a first Tool type, in the next step. The function distinguishes between all Tools of a main category e.g. "End Mill" and individual types such as e.g. "Ball Nose End Mill". Each Tool type or each main category can be pre-assigned with relevant Geometry Values. Additional Tool types can be added at any time via the "Define new tool type" button.
The default values are now available within the project data (first dialog) under the entry "To be edited", for each new Tool. The library can be accessed by the icon to the right of the entry. After selecting a material, all stored Geometries are pre-assigned with the Values.
