Draw PCD Tools quick and easy
In addition to the classic design and documentation of carbide tools, the ISBE TD Sketcher also performs valuable work with PCD tools or tools with brazed cutting edges. The TD Sketcher uses the DIAMOND module for this purpose, which integrates an additional dialog into the project wizard and adds further functions.
The tool is defined in the outer geometry and cutting edges or flutes at the circumference are added the usual way. Even other shank geometries such as HSK or SK for monoblock tools can be specified. The new dialog following the flute definition allows information on PCD placement and insert distribution.
Any number of PCD inserts can be added for each cutting edge. Each insert has its own specifications for length, width and insert thickness. Specific features such as pocket depth, axial and radial tilting can also be specified within the DIAMOND dialog.
When using mainly standardized PCD inserts, it is possible to store them in a library after a one-time definition and use them later on. A preview of the insert geometry enables fast identification.
The finished drawing can be dimensioned and details can be created. In addition, areas and volumes can be calculated and, in case of unequal arrangement, the display color of the PCD inserts can be set.
