Getting long tools under control with break lines
In order to get very long or large tools on a drawing, you can achieve a lot with the scale. But often this is not enough. If important details become too small, only because a tool is exceptionally long, it does not make the drawing better. By means of break lines long tools can be shortened comfortably and safely in the TD Sketcher, so that still necessary details remain visible.
If the long tool is defined and the drawing is derived from it, a break line can be inserted in the area of the cutting part, neck or shank. The actual area to be shortened can be set visually in a dialog. The function is called via 'Edit' - 'Insert bridge line'..
In the dialog the range is defined first. The range extends from the start point to the specified end point. A preview helps to select the shortened area. With OK the drawing is updated and the tool shortened. For better display, the shortened area is marked with a corresponding symbol.
Additional dimensions can easily be added, removed or repositioned. To remove a break line, simply delete it using the context menu of the break line.
