Additional snap points for optimal dimensioning
Dimensions in TD Sketcher can be quickly and easily set, moved and provided with tolerances or additional text. The dimensions are always based on the start or end points of the individual segments. However, if theoretical points on the tool, e.g. a sinking diameter or drilling depth must be dimensioned, the standard catch points are not sufficient. This can be remedied by additional catch points.
To insert snap points into the drawing, open the dialog "Additional snap points" via the menu "Edit" / "Insert snap points" or via the quick access in the toolbar.
In the dialog, snap points can be defined either over planes along the tool axis or to a diameter. If you enter the desired value, the function in the drawing shows you all the possible snap points directly.
If you now dimension the tool in TD Sketcher, the additional snap points are displayed as normal dimension points and can be selected.
