Derive blank geometries from tool data with just a few clicks
When it comes to the manufacturing of the tool after its drawing is completed, often an drawing or sketch for the preparation of the blanks must be created additionally. It's obvious that a blank should be easy derived from the existing tool data. Another advantage: A new drawing doesn't have to be sketched again in case of a upcoming change.
Another data record is created first from the tool data and appended to the current project for deriving a blank. This is quite simple by using the function 'Copy tool' in the context menu in the tool drawing area. All you have to do is to mark the option 'as a blank' and the TD Sketcher will automatically create a new drawing and record. The previous drawing template is also adopted optionally.
Once the blank has been created on another page together with the data record, it can be edited using the tool wizard. Changes on the blank don't affect the tool. Thus, geometries can be prepared optimally and independently of the tool. Relevant information and dimensions for the production of the blanks can be added quickly and noted on the drawing. All data is always up to date and available in one place.
