ISBE TD Sketcher CAM generates 3D model
The simple and fast creation of tool drawings for precision tools with soldered PCD or Carbide cutting edges has guaranteed enormous time and cost savings for numerous users since the introduction of TD Sketcher DIAMOND. By means of the wizard-guided design of tool parameters, PCD / Carbide cutting edges and the automatic intersection with the outer contour of the tool, even complex profile tools can be defined in a few minutes without the need of CAD.
At the AMB 2016, ISBE GmbH introduces the new software TD Sketcher CAM that allows deriving 3D models with chip flute as well as insert pockets directly from TD Sketcher DIAMOND. The 3D model is generated as a surface model (STEP) and can be imported into existing CAM systems for the production of the tool basic body. There is no need for complex constructions with CAD.
PCD-/Carbide cutting edges can be exported as DXF for providing the blanks. An additional calculation of the surfaces and effective cutting edge lengths facilitates to calculate the stock costs exactly already in the planning or quotation phase.
The new TD Sketcher CAM software has been specifically developed for precision tools and can be used as an add-on to TD Sketcher DIAMOND or be extended as a separate module with tool path calculation and postprocessors. A brief learning phase allows getting started with the software without time-consuming CAD trainings. Users benefit from an efficient and usable solution for digital tool data - as a basis for productive workflows.
