How the license move succeeds
It happens sometimes that hardware like laptops or desktops are replaced, due to their age or simply because of a defect. If the new hardware is supplied, in most cases, the software can be downloaded from the manufacturers' websites on the internet. Licenses that are attached to the hardware must be deactivated before the license can be re-scheduled for the new installation. This applies not only to purchased licenses, but also to TD Sketcher licenses.
We provide functions in the license overview within the TD Sketcher for a simple change. From the menu '? / License ', the current license can be viewed directly from the TD Sketcher. In addition to the important information, this license dialog also gives you additional functions for managing or updating the license. You can request a new license (test license with first installation), update licenses online, or import the license as a file to computers that do not have an internet access.
A license can also be deactivated on a computer. A small deactivation code is sent to us by e-Mail with this function, which informs our licensing management system that this license is not linger required. This allows you to release a single license for a different installation within a license package. You can have this license on a new computer, after a confirmation by e-Mail.
After a successful installation on a new computer or laptop, the license dialog opens automatically at the first start. You have the possibility to request a new (test) license now. Activate the new license via the online update or import the license file attached to the e-Mail confirmation.
